So what's kind of game is this exactly?
We are a OC game in the style of Tomb Raider/Rogue Angel. That doesn't mean that you'll see Lara Croft or Annja Creed running around the Society but the game is loosely based on those two fandoms. However as I stated before this is an Original Character game. Please, no cannon characters from various fandoms. We are friendly to first time players, as a first time mod, I remember being a first time player. I promise to be as open minded as possible while still staying true to the spirit of the game. I created this game for all of us with an interest in this kind of role-playing. I got sick of the same Harry Potter games over and over. If you need to contact me write to fullmoon71383@yahoo.com or you can reach me at waterangel251983 on AIM.

Is this like Indiana Jones?
No. When creating your character please don't make an Indiana Jones, by that I mean don't have your character be a jack-of-all-trades. If we had characters like that running around we wouldn't need specialists in certain fields.

Where is this manor house located?
The manor house is a historical building in the suburb of Marple in Manchester England. It is a short distance from the heart of the city.

Do I have to live in the Society Headquarters, or can I live elsewhere?
As an employee of the Society you must live in the lodging provided to you in the manor house. But employees are free to leave the grounds to visit Manchester down-town and the surrounding other suburbs at any time.

Does my Character have to be British?
Not at all. Your character can be any Nationality or Race you want, I make no stipulations where this is concerned.

So what's up with this supernatural artifacts stuff?
Well all through history there have been objects that were believed to have mystical powers. For example Thor's Hammer is believed to have the power to call down lightning from the sky and break through solid stone walls. The Jar of King Solomon was believed to have the power to bind demons and control them. All the artifacts that the society chases down are considered powerful and potentially dangerous.

So it's important that the society finds these relics huh?
Yep, just think what could happen if someone had the Jar of Solomon in their possession and decided to use it to unleash hell on earth. That would be bad right? You betcha. So the society make it a priority to find and secure these items before they get scooped up by some unscrupulous villain.

So how do these mission things work?
Every month the founders connections round-up about six different cases involving a relic that needs to be recovered. The information will always be posted in the Current Missions post. Each will be from a different location on the planet. Just leave a comment on the missions page to volunteer for a case. Field employees will be required to participate in a mission every 3 months. The mission page will explain the details for each case and what the field workers should expect. There will also be a cash of supplies that will be provided to the employees for each mission. These items will include; ropes for rock climbing and other rock climbing supplies, flashlights, walkie-talkies, water, and a PDA computer with the mission specifics. The thread for each mission should begin with the characters arriving at the destination of the mission. From there the players on their own. It's up to them and their creativity to determine the events that occur/action that occurs. During the course of the mission it's up to the players to make it interesting. Once the relic has been found, simply contact the Society via cell phone and notify an extraction team that the relic is ready for pick up, then the characters are free to make their way back to the society.

What happens if no one volunteers for a mission
Any mission that doesn't get any volunteer's is recycled into the next mission post. If a mission goes without volunteers for 3 months the mission gets scrapped.

Will there be any missions to discover Atlantis, Shang-ri-la, or El Dorado?
I'm not completely closed to the idea, but I will more often than not place the missions in real locations on the globe. Keep in mind also that the Society chases artifacts as opposed to places. It's not like they could bring an entire city to the Society building to store in the vault.

So how many employees can form an excavation team?
Only 2 really works for the purposes of threading. Thanks to a friendly suggestion form a potential app, it's been pointed out to me that 3 or more characters in a thread is possible. Just make sure that there's some collaboration between players on how the thread is going to go to cut down on confusion. So as of now, more than 2 people can volunteer for an excavation team. I don't require there to be an Archaeologist on every mission or any of the other occupations for that matter. What I mean is anyone from the field occupations can volunteer for the missions. If a non field worker wants to volunteer for a mission I can make exceptions. Just keep in mind some of the occupations in the society are the best suited for field work. Once 2 employees have volunteered for a mission the thread can begin. Just post it in [info]antiquities_rpg, It doesn't matter who initiates the thread just make sure the other volunteer knows your starting it.

What do we do when we're not looking for artifacts?
Socialize with your fellow employee's. Take some time to go into Manchester for cup of coffee, spend some time in a local pub, anything really. Every once in a while I'll make a post that the Society is having a party, or dinner or something like that just to stir things up a bit.

How do the personal journals work?
For the purposes of the game the personal journals are all connected via the internet. Employees can post an entry just to shoot the breeze, or ask for help with some research or make private entries. If making a private entry just notate it in the subject or some other way.
